The iPad’s portability and versatility means it finds uses everywhere – from simply being a ‘bigger browser’ than a mobile phone, to providing a credible creative platform for, among others, Adobe Creative Cloud software.

Recognised as one of the most influential inventions, Apple’s iPad hit the shelves in January 2010.

Although not quite the ‘laptop killer’ that was envisioned, nevertheless iPad usage is ubiquitous – in business, education, healthcare, technology and personal use. It comes in two variations: Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi with cellular network access via a SIM card.

Since 2010 there have been many upgrades and variations and as of March 2022 we’re up to 9th Gen iPad. Originally running the iPhone iOS, since 2019 iPad has its own operating system: iPadOS.
