As you know, iPhones aren’t cheap! In January 2019, the iPhone iOS had a global market share of around 23%, vs Android’s 74%. Apple’s iPhone is however superbly built and specified, so you’re in great company.
As with any mobile phone, of course, iPhones as susceptible to all the usual human errors, where gravity or spilled coffee intervenes to brick your trusted friend. That’s OK, we don’t judge – we just fix them if and when the worst happens!
The first generation iPhone was announced by Apple in January 2007. Since then, Apple has released new iPhone models annually, as well as frequent iOS updates. 2.2 billion iPhones have been sold worldwide up to November 2018
Development of the iPhone began in 2004, when Apple started to gather a thousand strong team led by hardware engineer Tony Fadell, software engineer Scott Forstall and British born design engineer Sir Jonathan Ive. The top secret work was codenamed ‘Project Purple’.
Over the years, 33 models of iPhone have been produced.
